  1. You should not pick single leaves, but cut it just above the last set of
leaves. You will get a big bush of basil!

    1. +1 to this comment

  2. Great tips. Thank you so much.. I’m just starting to learn about all this
and need a lot of help…

  3. plants can last for 6 months plus

  4. watering plants with a brita filtered water … such bollocks. i mean, wow

    1. +seriouslyWeird Totally agree with you!! I was interested in what he had to
say until I heard him say ‘filtered water’…. WTF??!! DH

    2. It’s not bollocks, it changes the PH value of the water which could
potentially assist with the plants absorptions of food.

  5. Thanks alot!

  6. Cool video, my advice is to keep an eye out for Microgreens on the shelf
    and regrow them on.
    Thanks for the tips.

    1. Great thanks for the advice 🙂

  7. My basil plants thieve and last as long as the weather is warm, months.
Frost kills them. But, just like clock work the seedlings germinate from
last summer’s plants and I have a hundred of them. With such wet weather,
though, the seedlings so far have not come up this year.

  8. i water my basil twice a day, before i go to sleep and after i wake up, its
doing quite good now for one month.

  9. The only difference with using filter water is you change the PH value of
the water (lowering it with a water filter). This could be the reason your
plants do better, not because of any contaminates.

    1. That actually makes sense, thanks for the answer

    2. It’s entirely possible that both are contributing factors. As a layman, the
both intuitively make sense to me.

    3. +A Random User possible but unlikely.

  10. none of this is correct.

    1. Great comment! No alternative advice? Nothing? Brilliant!

    2. You should not pick single leaves, but cut it just above the last set of
leaves. You will get a big bush of basil

  11. Pouring filtered water onto soil? lol….

    1. I think the same as you.

  12. Never in a million years would I have guessed basil and dark chocolate go
    well together. Thanks for that!

    1. You’re welcome 🙂

  13. Awesome video this is super helpful! I just started my own herb garden so
    this is great!!

  14. Ps to anyone watching this video. Try mixing up chopped basil,
strawberries, and ricotta cheese. Then drizzle it with honey. It’s sounds
so weird but it’s such a delicious treat!

  15. Do what i did and upgrade to a much bigger pot. get a nice vase from b and
q and use it sparingly and it’ll grow huge. It just needs space to grow.
Also basil is a dry Mediterranean herb, so whe you put it into its bigger
pot, put lots of stones at the bottom (not bricks.. the dust literally
compacts the soil. This will give good drainage. Then i have put some flat
stones in the bottom of the vase to keep it a little over the water run
off. Only water when it starts to droop and you will be laughing. Just from
empirical knowledge, may be wrong, and there may be better ways of doing
    it.

    1. Yeah I totally agree 🙂

    2. Although.. mine bolted ages ago as i didnt prune enough XD sad times

  16. This guy is a moron of the highest order. A fuckwit.

  17. where is the best place to put them ? mine is out in the balcony getting
    direct sunlight.

    1. EZAD OTH anywere warm, sheltered and in sunlight, so yeah balcony is fine
unless the temperature goes below 10 degrees C
