  1. Why have humans evolved to naturally not take care of this? Probably half
of our race lives in climates where there supposedly isn’t enough vitamin
    D.

  2. Hello I really enjoyed your video very positive and informative. I have a
question and I hope you don’t mind answer. I have been told I am borderline
low like 30 nmol/l I think that is what how you write that. I am in england
so we used a different kind of measurement to america I think. I have got
this strange depression and tiredness, mental sluggishness and things like
that and I have just recently started taking 3000iu of vitamin D daily
recently for about 2 weeks and I have noticed a few positive changes in my
mood. My question is will this vitamin D restore my mental function to
normal because I have had everything else checked and it seems fine its
only the Vitamin D that is low :)

    1. +richardkkirk Thank you very much I will get them checked again soon 🙂

    2. ash forgot to say if the gel tabs are givin u grief holland and barrett do
a spray that you spray into the side of your mouth 3000iu in one pump, i’ve
found this much better than the tabs. rich
      ,

    3. +richardkkirk that sounds great I hate trying to swallow tablets although
these ones are actually pretty small so im not having too much trouble with
them I am running low on them though so I may consider buying the spray
next time thanks very much 🙂

    4. they also do it in 1000 iu as well. 100 pumps per bottle, i use the 3000
one a day in the afternoon about 7 quid.

    5. +richardkkirk I will check it out for myself soon thanks man 😀

  3. for a better absortion vitamin d3 should be together with vitamin k2 or
magnesio if you take soft gel pills, because vitamin k2 put the calcium
    where is has to be.

  4. If you were wearing a fedora, I would swear you were an observer…. :)

  5. You are an excellent doctor, thank you for the video :)

  6. I started working nights rarely ever seen sun light and my health really
started to decline. I’ve recently started taking vitamin d3 5000 iu’s and
    I’m noticing small changes.

    1. How are you feeling now?

    2. +Joe S I actually even started taking even higher doses with vitamin K2 and
I actually started to heal my gut from ulcers from lots of stress and
caffeine. yes I prefer to get vitamin D from the sun but can’t always
specially in Ohio. but I ordered mine online organic vegan capsules.

    3. +Jessica Lynn I was just diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency and I have
most of the symptoms of it. The biggest symptoms for me are constant
fatigue and some bouts of depression. And I’m from New Jersey and I also
barely get any sun especially in the winter, so I’m supplementing. I’m
happy to hear it has helped you. I’m hoping it works out for me!

  7. Vitamin D testing is simple. why wait until you have cancer to get tested.
be preventative, especially when knowing that we’re globally deficient.

  8. Very helpful.

  9. very clear, informative and well presented.

  10. can I give vitamin d3 to my dog

    1. +Simon Silva see a vet

  11. Dr. John- After about 2 months of taking 2,000 IU/day of a vitamin D3
supplement, I noticed my hair suddenly began to fall out at which point I
immediately discontinued supplementation. The hair loss continued for about
4 months and now I have a significantly thinner scalp. I did not check my
levels prior to beginning supplementation, but suspected they were low as I
have an indoor job and do not see sunlight much. Additionally I did much
research and it seemed to be the concensus that 2,000 IU/day was a safe
dosage for anyone not exposed to sunlight on a continual basis. Any idea
why it could cause hair loss?

    1. +Andy Putin Maybe your magnesium is low, if you take D you need extra
magnesium and it has an effect on hair thickness amongst other numerous
      health benefits.

  12. can I use tanning bed 1 once a week?

  13. As far as i know, the sun absorption is like a vitamin d3 cream, it
bypasses the liver and goes straight to the kidneys where it activates. It
has to get to the kidneys or it will not be activated, so then it doesn’t
matter if using a cream or a pill, both leads to the kidneys anyhow?

  14. Note to self: Sunscreen used to block specifically UVB /

  15. Pale skin is from staying in doors alot. 600mg of food a day. Too much
vitamin d is bad as it causes me chest pain alot and mine is 0-6 vitamin d
as I take tramadol alot for fibromyalgia, neuralgia and sciatica. So I
refuse help as its a waste of time. Plus im lactose intorant

  16. I LV Vitamins D3 😘😀😘

  17. Not to mention all the toxic chemicals that are in sunscreen on top of
    staying out the sun

  18. started taking D3 and I feel amazing. no other vitamin or supplement I’ve
ever taken had this kind of effects. Maybe I was deficient?

  19. The stupidity off covering legs and arms in the summer, its costing the
health service billions. The sun scare industry has hood winked everyone.
Incidental light exposure whilst out and about is harmless. If you tan up
slowly and do not burn yourself, and eat an healthy diet rich in Tomato’s
and Olive oil. Tanning is healthy, sunburn is bad, just use common sense.

  20. We need sun roofs on cars, and a ban on tinted windows in cars..
